Solar interfacial evaporation, as a novel practical freshwater production method, requires continuous research on how to improve the evaporation rates to increase water production. In this study, sets of data were obtained from molecule dynamics simulation and literature, in which the parameters included height, diameter, height–radius ratio, evaporation efficiency, and evaporation rate. Initially, the correlation between the four input parameters and the output of the evaporation rate was examined through traditional pairwise plots and Pearson correlation analysis, revealing weak correlations. Subsequently, the accuracy and generalization performance of the evaporation rate prediction models established by neural network and random forest were compared, with the latter demonstrating superior performance and reliability confirmed via random data extraction. Furthermore, the impact of different percentages (10%, 20%, and 30%) of the data on the model performance was explored, and the result indicated that the model performance is better when the test set is 20% and all the constructed model converge. Moreover, the mean absolute error and mean squared error of the evaporation rate prediction model for the three ratios were calculated to evaluate their performance. However, the relationship between the height- radius ratio and optimal evaporation rate was investigated using the enumeration method, and it was determined that the evaporation efficiency was optimal when the height–radius ratio was 6. Finally, the importance of height, diameter, height– radius ratio, and evaporation efficiency were calculated to optimize evaporator structure, increase evaporation rate, and facilitate the application of interfacial evaporation in solar desalination. The competition among Food & Beverage companies has substantially increased in today's age of digitization. Sales forecasting is one of their main challenges. Due to space limitations, employee shortages, and rising online demand, retail sales forecasting became extremely important for Food and Beverage companies. This research analyzed the sales data of a multinational Food & Beverage Company. It proposed a framework using Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) clustering, Hierarchical Agglomerative Clustering (HAC), and Random Forest algorithm for forecasting sales. This model analyzes the impact of the weekends, holidays, promotional activities, customer sentiments, festivals, and socio-economic situations in sales data and is able to forecast sales ranging from one to 15 months. An investigation of the suggested model's performance compared to numerous cutting-edge sales forecasting techniques is carried out to show its efficacy. Here, we demonstrate that the proposed hybrid model surpasses current predicting and computing efficiency methods. The results of this study can help retail managers to allocate resources and manage inventories in well-informed ways. Processes or products are typically complex systems with numerous interrelated procedures and interdependent components. This results in complex relationships between responses and input factors, as well as complex nonlinear correlations among multiple responses. If the two types of complex correlations in the quality design cannot be properly dealt with, it will affect the prediction accuracy of the response surface model, as well as the accuracy and reliability of the recommended optimal solutions. In this paper, we combine kernel trick-based kernel principal component analysis, spline-based Bayesian semiparametric additive model, and normal boundary intersection-based evolutionary algorithm to address these two types of complex correlations. The effectiveness of the proposed method in modeling and optimisation is validated through a simulation study and a case study. The results show that the proposed Bayesian semiparametric additive model can better describe the process relationships compared to least squares regression, random forest regression, and support vector basis regression, and the proposed multi-objective optimisation method performs well on several indicators mentioned in the paper. In this article, we present a machine learning model to obtain fast and accurate estimates of the molecular Hessian matrix. In this model, based on a random forest, the second derivatives of the energy with respect to redundant internal coordinates are learned individually. The internal coordinates together with their specific representation guarantee rotational and translational invariance. The model is trained on a subset of the QM7 dataset but is shown to be applicable to larger molecules picked from the QM9 dataset. From the predicted Hessian, it is also possible to obtain reasonable estimates of the vibrational frequencies, normal modes, and zero point energies of the molecules. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Pre-tightening torque has a significant impact on the performance of a bolt-clamped high-frequency piezoelectric ultrasonic transducer widely used in wire bonding. To develop a vibratory response-based method for the determination of optimal pre-tightening torque, the vibration amplitude signals of the transducer under different excitation conditions were monitored, and the characteristic parameters of the response, involving the resonance frequency, settling time within the initial transient response, and vibration amplitude of the steady-state stage, were extracted. Based on a series of in-depth tests, analyses, and discussions, the influences that the pre-tightening torque has on the vibratory response properties were investigated. Then, the experimental measurement and the random forest method were combined to determine the optimal pre-tightening torque. The performance test results show that the developed method can give the optimal pre-tightening torque according to the desired vibrational response properties, and it is feasible, effective, and reliable as well as improves the adaptability and flexibility of the high-frequency ultrasonic transducer in the application. Purpose: The efficacy of isolated and relative performance indicators (PIs) has been compared in rugby union; the latter more effective at discerning match outcomes. However, this methodology has not been applied in women's rugby. The aim of this study was to identify PIs that maximize prediction accuracy of match outcome, from isolated and relative data sets, in women's rugby union. Methods: Twenty-six PIs were selected from 110 women's international rugby matches between 2017 and 2022 to form an isolated data set, with relative data sets determined by subtracting corresponding opposition PIs. Random forest classification was completed on both data sets, and feature selection and importance were used to simplify models and interpret key PIs. Models were used in prediction on the 2021 World Cup to evaluate performance on unseen data. Results: The isolated full model correctly classified 75% of outcomes (CI, 65%–82%), whereas the relative full model correctly classified 78% (CI, 69%–86%). Reduced respective models correctly classified 74% (CI, 65%–82%) and 76% (CI, 67%–84%). Reduced models correctly predicted 100% and 96% of outcomes for isolated and relative test data sets, respectively. No significant difference in accuracy was found between data sets. In the relative reduced model, meters made, clean breaks, missed tackles, lineouts lost, carries, and kicks from hand were significant. Conclusions: Increased relative meters made, clean breaks, carries, and kicks from hand and decreased relative missed tackles and lineouts lost were associated with success. Electronic waste (e-waste) is considered a major issue that our world is tackling nowadays. This electronic waste causes various health issues to animals as well as human beings which further results in environmental pollution in developing countries like India. To overcome these issues, proper e-waste collection is proposed by using the dynamic sine cosine-based neural network optimization (DSCNN) approach. The major objective of this approach involves collecting waste from the individual, hence handling the widespread adoption and use of smartphones. To enhance waste planning collection, residents upload a photograph of their waste to the waste collection company's server, which mechanically recognizes and categorizes the image. A new classification and detection scheme using the DSCNN approach is proposed for efficient e-waste collection planning and correctly detects the type and quantity of waste components in images. The identification and classification accuracy of the uploaded images is very accurate; this method describes the e-waste collection process in various streets and buildings in Maharashtra, India. Experimental results describe that the proposed approach readily achieves the proper allocation of vehicle collection, vehicle routing plan, and household e-waste collection, resulting in reduced collection costs. Moreover, the proposed DSCNN method is compared to various other methods like random forest algorithm (RFA), fractional henry gas optimization (FHGO), behavior-based swarm model by the fuzzy controller (BSFC), and deep learning convolutional neural network (DL-CNN). Machine learning classifiers have been widely used for crop mapping; however, employing numerous features can reduce classifier accuracy. Feature selection is a widely recognized technique that addresses the issue of high dimensionality by choosing the most relevant subset of features with the highest degree of relevance and practicality. Therefore, the optimal combination of feature selection methods and classifiers for high-precision crop mapping remains an open problem. In this study, we introduce a novel hybrid feature selection approach to obtain the optimal subset of features for effective crop mapping. Initially, spectro-temporal remote sensing features from the dataset were ranked using two distinct feature selection techniques: Mutual Information (MI) and ReliefF filter. The most relevant features from each filter-based approach were combined into a union subset. Subsequently, the Gray Wolf Optimization (GWO), a metaheuristic optimization technique, was applied to enhance the feature set generated in the initial step. In the final stage, a random forest classifier leveraged the optimized feature subset for accurate crop type prediction. The effectiveness of the proposed approach was evaluated in Behiera governorate, Egypt. Comparative analysis against existing crop mapping methods demonstrated the superior performance of the proposed approach, achieving an accuracy rate of 82%. Therefore, accurate and timely paddy crop yield prediction is crucial to ensure the food security of the country. In this direction, the present study proposed a hybrid deep-learning method based on Conv-1D and LSTM layers using the classification-derived phenological with meteorological parameters for paddy crop yield prediction. The paddy crop classification has been conducted using high-resolution (10 m) multispectral imagery based on GPS coordinates collected during the paddy field visits to extract the phenological parameters for input to the prediction model. In this context, the efficiency of Random Forest, Naïve Bayes, SVM, and Gradient Tree boost classifiers was assessed. Furthermore, we have also analyzed the accuracy of Landsat-8, Sentinel-1 GRD, and Sentinel-2 satellite imagery in paddy crop classification based on area estimation. The Statistical Abstract of Haryana was utilized to validate the paddy crop area estimation and yield prediction. The classification outcomes showed that the Random Forest method attained the highest accuracy of 96.6 % compared to other GEE-based classifiers. In this study, we conducted a comprehensive assessment of Leaf Area Index (LAI) estimation using three distinct sources of satellite data: Sentinel-2 imagery, drone imagery (UAVs), and Mohammed VI satellite data. The main objective was to identify the most reliable and precise dataset for predicting LAI, with a focus on evaluating the performance of Random Forest models. For Sentinel-2 imagery, our Random Forest model achieves a robust R-squared (R2) value of 0.89, signifying a strong alignment between predicted and measured LAI values. The associated root-mean-square error (RMSE) is 0.4, indicating high predictive accuracy. In the context of UAVs, our Random Forest model excels, exhibiting an impressive R2 value of 0.93, highlighting a substantial correlation between predicted and measured LAI. The RMSE for drone imagery stands at 0.37, showcasing exceptional predictive accuracy. Finally, the Random Forest model trained on Mohammed VI satellite data yields an R2 value of 0.92, underlining its strong fit with measured LAI values. The RMSE for Mohammed VI imagery is 0.39, further underscoring the model's exceptional predictive accuracy. This comparative analysis underscores the importance of selecting the most suitable satellite data source for LAI estimation in Argania spinosa. UAV imagery emerges as the most accurate choice, closely followed by Mohammed VI Satellite and Sentinel-2 imagery. Void defect is prevalent during the composite manufacturing process and may reduce the mechanical properties of composite structures, while limited information about three‐dimensional void distribution and evolution can be found due to the difficulties in void observation. In this work, void defects at different positions were detected and analyzed using x‐ray microtomography (XRM), and the random forest algorithm was implemented for segmenting components of CFRP samples. Results showed a trend of gradual rising porosity in the axial direction, with an increase of ~250% of porosity at the outlet of resin injection compared to the one at the inlet during the composite manufacturing process. The voids mainly featured with microscale between carbon fibers, with less distribution between fiber bundles and resin‐rich zones. Void defects achieved aggregation at the middle position of manufactured laminate, which is probably related to pressure interception. In the axial direction, the proportion of large‐diameter voids gradually increased, and a large volume of connected voids appeared near the outlet. Due to the shear deformation of resin and fiber and the pressure gradient effect, most of the voids showed stripe shape. The spatial orientation of voids was predominantly along the direction of resin flow and fluctuated due to fiber curl. A new analytical method for chronic kidney disease (CKD) detection utilizing paper spray mass spectrometry (PS-MS) combined with machine learning is presented. The analytical protocol is rapid and simple, based on metabolic profile alterations in urine. Anonymized raw urine samples were deposited (10 μL each) onto pointed PS-MS sample strips. Without waiting for the sample to dry, 75 μL of acetonitrile and high voltage were applied to the strips, using high resolution mass spectrometry measurement (15 s per sample) with polarity switching to detect a wide range of metabolites. Random forest machine learning was used to classify the resulting data. The diagnostic performance for the potential diagnosis of CKD was evaluated for accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity, achieving results >96% for the training data and >91% for validation and test data sets. Metabolites selected by the classification model as up- or down-regulated in healthy or CKD samples were tentatively identified and in agreement with previously reported literature. The potential utilization of this approach to discriminate albuminuria categories (normo, micro, and macroalbuminuria) was also demonstrated. This study aims to use machine learning methods to examine the causative factors of significant crashes, focusing on accident type and driver's age. In this study, a wide-ranging data set from Jeddah city is employed to look into various factors, such as whether the driver was male or female, where the vehicle was situated, the prevailing weather conditions, and the efficiency of four machine learning algorithms, specifically XGBoost, Catboost, LightGBM and RandomForest. The results show that the XGBoost Model (accuracy of 95.4%), the CatBoost model (94% accuracy), and the LightGBM model (94.9% accuracy) were superior to the random forest model with 89.1% accuracy. It is worth noting that the LightGBM had the highest accuracy of all models. This shows various subtle changes in models, illustrating the need for more analyses while assessing vehicle accidents. The goal is to enhance an automated sleep staging system's performance by leveraging the diverse signals captured through multi-modal polysomnography recordings. Three modalities of PSG signals, namely electroencephalogram (EEG), electrooculogram (EOG), and electromyogram (EMG), were considered to obtain the optimal fusions of the PSG signals, where 63 features were extracted. These include frequency-based, time-based, statistical-based, entropy-based, and non-linear-based features. We adopted the ReliefF (ReF) feature selection algorithms to find the suitable parts for each signal and superposition of PSG signals. Twelve top features were selected while correlated with the extracted feature sets' sleep stages. The selected features were fed into the AdaBoost with Random Forest (ADB + RF) classifier to validate the chosen segments and classify the sleep stages. This study's experiments were investigated by obtaining two testing schemes: epoch-wise testing and subject-wise testing. The suggested research was conducted using three publicly available datasets: ISRUC-Sleep subgroup1 (ISRUC-SG1), sleep-EDF(S-EDF), Physio bank CAP sleep database (PB-CAPSDB), and S-EDF-78 respectively. Background: Acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding (AUGIB) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality. This presentation however is not universally high risk as only 20–30% of bleeds require urgent haemostatic therapy. Nevertheless, the current standard of care is for all patients admitted to an inpatient bed to undergo endoscopy within 24 h for risk stratification which is invasive, costly and difficult to achieve in routine clinical practice. Objectives: To develop novel non-endoscopic machine learning models for AUGIB to predict the need for haemostatic therapy by endoscopic, radiological or surgical intervention. Design: A retrospective cohort study Method: We analysed data from patients admitted with AUGIB to hospitals from 2015 to 2020 (n = 970). Machine learning models were internally validated to predict the need for haemostatic therapy. The performance of the models was compared to the Glasgow-Blatchford score (GBS) using the area under receiver operating characteristic (AUROC) curves. Results: The random forest classifier [AUROC 0.84 (0.80–0.87)] had the best performance and was superior to the GBS [AUROC 0.75 (0.72–0.78), p < 0.001] in predicting the need for haemostatic therapy in patients with AUGIB. A GBS cut-off of ⩾12 was associated with an accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV) and negative predictive value (NPV) of 0.74, 0.49, 0.81, 0.41 and 0.85, respectively. The Random Forrest model performed better with an accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, PPV and NPV of 0.82, 0.54, 0.90, 0.60 and 0.88, respectively. Conclusion: We developed and validated a machine learning algorithm with high accuracy and specificity in predicting the need for haemostatic therapy in AUGIB. Background: The global evolution of pre-hospital care systems faces dynamic challenges, particularly in multinational settings. Machine learning (ML) techniques enable the exploration of deeply embedded data patterns for improved patient care and resource optimisation. This study's objective was to accurately predict cases that necessitated transportation versus those that did not, using ML techniques, thereby facilitating efficient resource allocation. Methods: ML algorithms were utilised to predict patient transport decisions in a Middle Eastern national pre-hospital emergency medical care provider. A comprehensive dataset comprising 93,712 emergency calls from the 999-call centre was analysed using R programming language. Demographic and clinical variables were incorporated to enhance predictive accuracy. Random Forest (RF), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), and Adaptive Boosting (AdaBoost) algorithms were trained and validated. Results: All the trained algorithm models, particularly XGBoost (Accuracy = 83.1%), correctly predicted patients' transportation decisions. Further, they indicated statistically significant patterns that could be leveraged for targeted resource deployment. Moreover, the specificity rates were high; 97.96% in RF and 95.39% in XGBoost, minimising the incidence of incorrectly identified "Transported" cases (False Positive). Conclusion: The study identified the transformative potential of ML algorithms in enhancing the quality of pre-hospital care in Qatar. The high predictive accuracy of the employed models suggested actionable avenues for day and time-specific resource planning and patient triaging, thereby having potential to contribute to pre-hospital quality, safety, and value improvement. Background: Neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson's disease (PD), necessitate frequent clinical visits and monitoring to identify changes in motor symptoms and provide appropriate care. By applying machine learning techniques to video data, automated video analysis has emerged as a promising approach to track and analyze motor symptoms, which could facilitate more timely intervention. However, existing solutions often rely on specialized equipment and recording procedures, which limits their usability in unstructured settings like the home. In this study, we developed a method to detect PD symptoms from unstructured videos of clinical assessments, without the need for specialized equipment or recording procedures. Methods: Twenty-eight individuals with Parkinson's disease completed a video-recorded motor examination that included the finger-to-nose and hand pronation-supination tasks. Clinical staff provided ground truth scores for the level of Parkinsonian symptoms present. For each video, we used a pre-existing model called PIXIE to measure the location of several joints on the person's body and quantify how they were moving. Features derived from the joint angles and trajectories, designed to be robust to recording angle, were then used to train two types of machine-learning classifiers (random forests and support vector machines) to detect the presence of PD symptoms. Results: The support vector machine trained on the finger-to-nose task had an F1 score of 0.93 while the random forest trained on the same task yielded an F1 score of 0.85. The support vector machine and random forest trained on the hand pronation-supination task had F1 scores of 0.20 and 0.33, respectively. Conclusion: These results demonstrate the feasibility of developing video analysis tools to track motor symptoms across variable perspectives. These tools do not work equally well for all tasks, however. This technology has the potential to overcome barriers to access for many individuals with degenerative neurological diseases like PD, providing them with a more convenient and timely method to monitor symptom progression, without requiring a structured video recording procedure. Ultimately, more frequent and objective home assessments of motor function could enable more precise telehealth optimization of interventions to improve clinical outcomes inside and outside of the clinic. Ecological restoration of rare earth element (REE) mining areas has become a key component in the sustainable development of the ion-adsorption-type REE industry. Current studies on ecological restoration assessments are mainly based on a comparison of REE mining ranges conducted over two or more periods, therefore, the dynamic evolution of spatial patterns for REE mining and vegetation recovery remains to be elucidated. Rapid advances in remote sensing techniques, along with the cloud-based Google Earth Engine (GEE), can provide an effective and convenient observation strategy for monitoring the environment in mining areas. In this study, we propose a hybrid method consisting of a random forest (RF) classifier and Landsat-based detection of trends in disturbance and recovery (LandTrendr) to identify and monitor the disturbance of REE mining and vegetation recovery in REE mining areas in the southern Jiangxi Province of China from 1988 to 2021 based on the GEE platform. The results reveal that REE mining activities were widespread in the study area, and the spatial distribution of REE mining areas was highly dispersed. The total area of REE mining in the study region was 93.14 km2, and the greatest REE mining activity was observed in the year 2006. As of 2021, the vegetation coverage area in the REE mining zone reached 47.44 km2, with a recovery rate of 50.93%. Among the seven counties in the study area, Longnan county had the lowest level of vegetation recovery in REE mining areas. A total of 95% of the vegetation recovery events in REE mining areas lasted between 1 and 18 years. These observations suggest that LandTrendr efficiently captured REE mining-induced disturbances and vegetation recovery and offers important reference data for the formulation of mining area restoration strategies. High-throughput phenotyping brings new opportunities for detailed genebank accessions characterization based on image-processing techniques and data analysis using machine learning algorithms. Our work proposes to improve the characterization processes of bean and peanut accessions in the CIAT genebank through the identification of phenomic descriptors comparable to classical descriptors including methodology integration into the genebank workflow. To cope with these goals morphometrics and colorimetry traits of 14 bean and 16 forage peanut accessions were determined and compared to the classical International Board for Plant Genetic Resources (IBPGR) descriptors. Descriptors discriminating most accessions were identified using a random forest algorithm. The most-valuable classification descriptors for peanuts were 100-seed weight and days to flowering, and for beans, days to flowering and primary seed color. The combination of phenomic and classical descriptors increased the accuracy of the classification of Phaseolus and Arachis accessions. Functional diversity indices are recommended to genebank curators to evaluate phenotypic variability to identify accessions with unique traits or identify accessions that represent the greatest phenotypic variation of the species (functional agrobiodiversity collections). The artificial intelligence algorithms are capable of characterizing accessions which reduces costs generated by additional phenotyping. Even though deep analysis of data requires new skills, associating genetic, morphological and ecogeographic diversity is giving us an opportunity to establish unique functional agrobiodiversity collections with new potential traits. Spectral diversity (SD) in reflectance can be used to estimate plant taxonomic diversity (TD) according to the Spectral Variation Hypothesis (SVH). However, contrasting relationships between SD and TD have been reported by different studies. Indeed, multiple factors may affect SD, including spatial and spectral scales, vegetation characteristics and the adopted SD computational method. Here, we tested the SVH over 171 plots within a large and heterogeneous forest area in North-Eastern Italy using Sentinel-2 data, aiming at identifying possible factors affecting the strength and direction of SD-TD relationship. SD was determined using 'biodivMapR' (BD) and 'rasterdiv' (RD) R packages and 38 possible combinations of SD indices, at both α (within a community) and β (among communities) levels, and computational parameters accounting for spatial and spectral scales. Information on vegetation structure was either retrieved from ground-based or LiDAR data. A Random Forest approach was used to disentangle the relationships between SD, TD and vegetation structure, and to identify the best combination of SD computational parameters. At the α-level, we found negative relationship between TD and RD SD indices, which was mainly driven by the presence of gaps within the forest canopy. As regards BD, we found that this algorithm reduced background contribution on SD and was able to differentiate major forest types (broadleaves vs conifers), but derived α-SD indices were marginally correlated with α-TD. At the β-level, we observed a statistically significant positive correlation between BD SD indices and TD (maximum r = 0.24). Finally, we found stronger correlations and R2 when SD indices were calculated using smaller computation windows and over a larger pixels extraction area. Our findings suggest that vegetation cover and structure play a major role, with respect to inter-species spectral differences, in determining α-SD, and that SD might better capture differences in species composition at the landscape-level rather than the richness of individual communities. Effective winter road maintenance relies on precise road friction estimation. Machine learning (ML) models have shown significant promise in this; however, their inherent complexity makes understanding their inner workings challenging. This paper addresses this issue by conducting a comparative analysis of road friction estimation models using four ML methods, including regression tree, random forest, eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), and support vector regression (SVR). We then employ the SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) explainable artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance model interpretability. Our analysis on an Alberta dataset reveals that the XGBoost model performs best with an accuracy of 91.39%. The SHAP analysis illustrates the logical relationships between predictor features and friction within all three tree-based models, but it also uncovers inconsistencies within the SVR model, potentially attributed to insufficient feature interactions. Thus, this paper not only showcase the role of explainable AI in improving the ML interpretability of models for road friction estimation, but also provides practical insights that could improve winter road maintenance decisions. Background: Identifying predictive biomarkers for allergen immunotherapy response is crucial for enhancing clinical efficacy. This study aims to identify such biomarkers in patients with allergic rhinitis (AR) undergoing subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT) for house dust mite allergy. Methods: The Tongji (discovery) cohort comprised 72 AR patients who completed 1‐year SCIT follow‐up. Circulating T and B cell subsets were characterized using multiplexed flow cytometry before SCIT. Serum immunoglobulin levels and combined symptom and medication score (CSMS) were assessed before and after 12‐month SCIT. Responders, exhibiting ≥30% CSMS improvement, were identified. The random forest algorithm and logistic regression analysis were used to select biomarkers and establish predictive models for SCIT efficacy in the Tongji cohort, which was validated in another Wisco cohort with 43 AR patients. Results: Positive SCIT response correlated with higher baseline CSMS, allergen‐specific IgE (sIgE)/total IgE (tIgE) ratio, and frequencies of Type 2 helper T cells, Type 2 follicular helper T (TFH2) cells, and CD23+ nonswitched memory B (BNSM) and switched memory B (BSM) cells, as well as lower follicular regulatory T (TFR) cell frequency and TFR/TFH2 cell ratio. The random forest algorithm identified sIgE/tIgE ratio, TFR/TFH2 cell ratio, and BNSM frequency as the key biomarkers discriminating responders from nonresponders in the Tongji cohort. Logistic regression analysis confirmed the predictive value of a combination model, including sIgE/tIgE ratio, TFR/TFH2 cell ratio, and CD23+ BSM frequency (AUC = 0.899 in Tongji; validated AUC = 0.893 in Wisco). Clara cell 16-kDa protein (CC16) is an anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory secreted pulmonary protein with reduced serum concentrations in obesity according to recent data. Studies focused solely on bodyweight, which does not properly reflect obesity-associated implications of the metabolic and reno-cardio-vascular system. The purpose of this study was therefore to examine CC16 in a broad physiological context considering cardio-metabolic comorbidities of primary pulmonary diseases. CC16 was quantified in serum samples in a subset of the FoCus (N = 497) and two weight loss intervention cohorts (N = 99) using ELISA. Correlation and general linear regression analyses were applied to assess CC16 effects of lifestyle, gut microbiota, disease occurrence and treatment strategies. Importance and intercorrelation of determinants were validated using random forest algorithms. CC16 A38G gene mutation, smoking and low microbial diversity significantly decreased CC16. Pre-menopausal female displayed lower CC16 compared to post-menopausal female and male participants. Biological age and uricosuric medications increased CC16 (all p < 0.01). Adjusted linear regression revealed CC16 lowering effects of high waist-to-hip ratio (est. −11.19 [−19.4; −2.97], p = 7.99 × 10−3), severe obesity (est. −2.58 [−4.33; −0.82], p = 4.14 × 10−3) and hypertension (est. −4.31 [−7.5; −1.12], p = 8.48 × 10−3). ACEi/ARB medication (p = 2.5 × 10−2) and chronic heart failure (est. 4.69 [1.37; 8.02], p = 5.91 × 10−3) presented increasing effects on CC16. Mild associations of CC16 were observed with blood pressure, HOMA-IR and NT-proBNP, but not manifest hyperlipidemia, type 2 diabetes, diet quality and dietary weight loss intervention. A role of metabolic and cardiovascular abnormalities in the regulation of CC16 and its modifiability by behavioral and pharmacological interventions is indicated. Alterations by ACEi/ARB and uricosurics could point towards regulatory axes comprising the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and purine metabolism. Software effort estimation is a vital process in the software industry for successfully administering 5Ds of the software development life cycle (SDLC). The 5Ds stand for demand, development, direction, deployment, and designated cost of the software. Software development effort estimation (SDEE) is an effort prediction mechanism to calculate the effort for the development of the software product in order to minimize the challenges in the software field. Academics and practitioners are striving to identify which machine learning estimation technique yields more accurate results based on evaluation metrics, datasets, and other pertinent aspects. The feature selection techniques impact accuracy by selecting the main and relevant features in the dataset and eliminating the redundant and irrelevant features in the dataset. To achieve accurate estimations, the paper utilizes feature selection algorithms, along with various machine learning techniques, which predict the desired effort and the performance of the model has been measured in terms of prediction accuracy, R2 value, relative error, and mean absolute error. The datasets China and Maxwell are trained with the relevant features by applying feature selection algorithms, and estimation techniques are applied to predict the effort. The performance is compared with the regression models and feature selection techniques utilized by many authors previously. The result of the proposed methodology significantly gives the best performance with the combination of feature selection and estimation models than all regression models when applied alone, to both datasets. From the results, it is perceptible that random forest is performing well with the feature selection techniques and obtains the highest prediction accuracy of 99.33% with the China and 89.47% with the Maxwell datasets. • Our random forest quantitative EEG (qEEG) classifier could classify delirium versus no delirium with an AUC of 0.76. • The most important delirium classification features were: theta peak frequency, relative alpha power and theta autocorrelation. • There was no evidence that qEEG features differed between postoperative and non-postoperative delirium. This exploratory study examined quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG) changes in delirium and the use of qEEG features to distinguish postoperative from non-postoperative delirium. This project was part of the DeltaStudy, a cross-sectional, multicenter study in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and non-ICU wards. Single-channel (Fp2-Pz) four-minutes resting-state EEG was analyzed in 456 patients. After calculating 98 qEEG features per epoch, random forest (RF) classification was used to analyze qEEG changes in delirium and to test whether postoperative and non-postoperative delirium could be distinguished. An area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 0.76 (95% Confidence Interval (CI) 0.71–0.80) was found when classifying delirium with a sensitivity of 0.77 and a specificity of 0.63 at the optimal operating point. The classification of postoperative versus non-postoperative delirium resulted in an AUC of 0.50 (95%CI 0.38–0.61). RF classification was able to discriminate delirium from no delirium with reasonable accuracy, while also identifying new delirium qEEG markers like autocorrelation and theta peak frequency. RF classification could not distinguish postoperative from non-postoperative delirium. Single-channel EEG differentiates between delirium and no delirium with reasonable accuracy. Cloud computing has revolutionized the way IT industries work. Most modern‐day companies rely on cloud services to accomplish their day‐to‐day tasks. From hosting websites to developing platforms and storing resources, cloud computing has tremendous use in the modern information technology industry. Although an emerging technique, it has many security challenges. In structured query language injection attacks, the attacker modifies some parts of the user query to still sensitive user information. This type of attack is challenging to detect and prevent. In this article, we have reviewed 65 research articles that address the issue of its prevention and detection in cloud and Traditional Networks, of which 11 research articles are related to general cloud attacks, and the rest of the 54 research articles are specifically on web security. Our result shows that Random Forest has an accuracy of 99.8% and a Precision rate of 99.9%, and the worst‐performing model is Multi‐Layer Perceptron (MLP) in the SQLIA Model. For recall value, Random Forest performs best while TensorFlow Linear Classifier performs worst. F1 score is best in Random Forest, while MLP is the most diminutive performer. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The compressive strength (CS) of crumb rubber concrete (CRC) can be improved through a chemical pretreatment involving immersion of the crumb rubber particles in a NaOH solution. Despite the potential benefits of this treatment, accurately estimating the CS value of NaOH-pretreated CRC remains challenging. To address this issue, a comprehensive database encompassing 118 entries on the fundamental mixtures of CRC along with NaOH concentration and pretreatment duration has been meticulously compiled for machine learning analysis. The random forest (RF) algorithm is employed to predict the 28-day CS value of NaOH-pretreated CRC. The model hyperparameters are optimized using a random search technique with 10-fold cross-validation. The findings reveal that the optimized RF attains acceptable predictive performance, yielding RMSE, MAE, and R2 values of 3.83 MPa, 2.84 MPa, and 0.85, respectively, on the testing dataset. Additionally, the model is interpreted using multiple techniques, including permutation importance, RF model-based feature importance, and Shapley additive explanation from global or local perspectives. The feature importance analyses consistently highlight the crucial role of crumb rubber content in determining the 28-day CS value of NaOH-pretreated CRC, and the influence of NaOH concentration and pretreatment time appear relatively inconsequential compared to features associated with the CRC mixture. This paper proposes a synchrophasor measurement-assisted integrated scheme to enhance power grid stability via transient stability assessment and emergency control of power systems in real-time. The synchrophasor measurements are time-stamped network information available from Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs). The Transient Stability Assessment (TSA) is based on measured generator bus angles obtained directly by PMUs at the control center. These synchronized angle measurements are utilized to construct features, and a Random Forest classifier is implemented to infer the TSA in real-time. The TSA results are determined within the first three cycles following the fault clearance. For operating scenarios that are unstable, an effective emergency control scheme is developed to avoid system degradation. The control strategy utilizes wide-area measurements to formulate a proportional sharing principle-based methodology in real-time. The composite scheme estimates the location and magnitude of the emergency measures to enhance grid stability. The performance of the proposed composite scheme is tested on an IEEE 39-bus test system. The results highlight that the scheme is computationally efficient and robust to topological changes.
